A: Generally an hour


Q: How many sessions will I need?
A: Brief intervention techniques are used and generally 3 – 6 sessions can be of value. This however varies from individual to individual as well as motivation, but can be discussed during the first session.

A: Medical aid rates or R850/ hour (rates go up in January of each year depending on inflation).

Q: How do I know if I need therapy/intervention?
A: Anybody can benefit from therapy.

If you feel you are not reaching your full potential or feeling stuck, stressed or not getting the recognition you feel you deserve or would like to change or develop aspects of yourself.


Q: How do I know if I am depressed?
A:Some of the symptoms are:

• Depressed mood; in children and adolescents mood can be irritable
• Diminished interest or pleasure in activities
• Poor appetite or overeating
• Sleep disturbances – can’t sleep or sleeps more than usual
• Low energy or fatigue
• Low self-esteem
• Poor concentration or difficulty making decisions
• Feelings of hopelessness
• Thoughts of death or suicide attempt must always be consider as serious

Professional help is recommended when five or more symptoms are present. Early identification can do much to prevent further devastating consequences.

Q: What is trauma?
A: Trauma and stress are part of our daily lives. The trauma can involve assault, robbery or other life threatening incidents or loss and emotional pain.

Trauma can also include emotional, physical or sexual abuse and can be a single incident or repetitive. Less obvious is the threat to personal integrity. A shattering emotional experience can cause problems and may damage people’s health, breakdown in relationships and lower capacity to cope with life.

Emotional trauma affects the brain and body functions in a similar way as physical trauma. The fact that the injury is not visible does not mean it does not exist. This pain can sometimes be hidden away for many years only to emerge later with sometimes even more disturbing effects.

A: Hypnosis is a technique which has often been misunderstood by the general public, whose only encounter  has been through sensational stage shows.

Hypnotherapy is a natural phenomenon similar as being absorbed in a TV program. Therefore it is only a focus of attention on what is relevant for that moment.

Hypnotherapy is a very effective technique used as an aid in uncovering deep rooted emotional pain or conflict.

Part of the healing process is to get in touch with and explore the conflict.
